Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

Import Meet would like to formally announce plans to sponsor the 2nd Annual Mt. Baker Import Run! Some of the founders of Import Meet were in attendance last year and it was a great time so we figured that this would be an ideal meet to sponsor. The goal this year is to completely fill the Heather Meadows parking lot with as many import cars as possible. As you can see in the gallery at the bottom of this post, the organizers had a wide variety of cars show up to the July 3rd 2010 meet. Please see below for…

Tonight I had the chance to watch Fast Five on opening night. All of the local shows ended up getting sold out, so I was glad I bought my tickets early. This one looked pretty exciting in the trailers and to be honest, I was looking forward to it. There were some things I liked about the movie, but there were also some areas that could have been better. First off, this movie had some of the corniest lines of any movie in recent years. If you can get past the bad screenplay and over-the-top characters, the movie is actually…

This weekend I was able to attend an autocross school hosted by the Chuckanut Sports Car Club. I knew that I would enjoy autocross the second I tried it, but I was amazed a how friendly and knowledgeable the group was. Special thanks to all of the veteran autocross guys who rode along and also gave pointers to all of us newbies from the sidelines! I thought I would pass on what knowledge I remembered (I wasn't able to take notes) and explain my take on the event.

Editor's note: The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author and do not reflect ImportMeet.com's stance on a given topic. It's 2011 and times have changed considerably since the 90s, especially in the automotive industry. With new technologies and the demand for efficiency, the market in which current automobile manufacturers are targeting has shifted. As can be seen from this post about the Evo, many have decided that hybrids or electric cars are the answer.

Import Meet has decided to open the doors to the regional forum for the Pacific Northwest! Since the Import Meet team and many of our newer members are from Washington state, this was the logical choice as the first regional forum to open. We plan on organizing meets and cruises in the area and being a strong presence in various aspects of the import car community. Feel free to post and introduce yourself to your fellow import car owners in your area. By our region setting an example of how a regional forum should be, people from other areas will…

I was watching show called Chasing Classic Cars last night on HD theater and it got me thinking. Of all of the import cars we have available right now (let's say 2010 and older) which have the ability of being that timeless classic that everyone lusts after in 10-15 years? I thought I would make a list of my top 5 and then see what everyone else thought via the comments. Without further ado, here is my list: Honda/Acura NSX – What can I say, I'm a pretty big Honda fanboy, so…
