Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

Today my car rolled over to 30,000 miles and it inspired me to write this post. I'll give you some background on my S2000. I bought the car a little over 3 years ago from an older gentleman when the car had 7900 miles on it. The car was a 2001, so the miles were incredibly low for the year. I paid a fair price for it and drove it off the consignment lot with a big smile on my face the entire way home. At first, I was determined to keep the miles low and drive it only on…

Today I had the pleasure of heading down to a meet organized by Northwest Nissans at Golden Gardens park in Seattle, WA. Despite the rain, many Nissan owners and other import owners showed up for one of the first big meets of 2011. It had a great turnout with some amazing cars. I estimate that at its peak, the park had approximately 300 cars present. Even parking was limited (I had to park on the street) but everyone seemed to have a great time. With the exception of a Mustang revving and causing a ruckus, there were no incidents to…

Editor's note: The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author and do not reflect ImportMeet.com's stance on a given topic. Let me be the first to say, I really love to modify my vehicle. I tend to look at a stock car as a blank canvas, ready for an owner to spread paint and make it their own. One of the main reasons that I mod is so that my car can be unique amongst a sea of similar models of that car. It has become my creative outlet and a way to express myself since I…

Autoblog is reporting that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution may be ceasing to exist after the Evolution X and a website by the name of Causes.com is starting a petition/following to show Mitsubishi just how much the Evo is loved. The main reason for this is to make room for their hybrid line of vehicles. Gayu Eusegi (Mitsubishi's global product director) says that "Our influence now is EV technology" which may spell an end to one of the standout vehicles in the import market. With the Lancer Evolution being one of the few exciting cars that Mitsubishi makes, they may see…

Although slightly delayed news, Autoblog reports that Honda has restarted the development to the successor to one of the most highly regarded import vehicles, the NSX. R&D was stopped in 2008 during the global economic downturn in an effort to stay profitable. Honda Racing has been using its prototype HSV-10 GT in Super GT in Japan since 2008. They stopped using the previous generation NSX because of a change to Super GT rules which would not allow mid engine vehicles. The HSV-10 GT has performed fairly well using Honda's high-revving V8 producing approximately 500 hp. If the production car sounds anywhere…
