V-LEDS / ImportMeet.com End of Summer Car Show – Official Event Coverage

Last Saturday, V-LEDS put the finishing touches on their new retail location and opened their warehouse facility for us to use for our End of Summer Car Show. Since the show was being held at the end of the summer and V-LEDS specializes in lighting products, we decided to start the show in the evening so that it would be dark by the end of the event.

It was raining in Seattle the morning of the show so the weather was a concern all day. By the time the first cars started to check in around 3pm, the sun started to break through the clouds. By 5pm, the parking lot surrounding V-LEDS was packed with over 75 cars. Many of the cars in the show made a trip from the Seattle area to attend. We even had one show entry come from as far away as Oregon City, Oregon!

There was a wide variety of import, European, and domestic cars present. For the first couple of hours, the show was like just about any other car show. However, once the sun started to set the atmosphere changed completely. People started to show off their lighting displays and many people commented on how the show reminded them of a mini Hot Import Nights. If you've never been to a Hot Import Nights event, it's a traveling car show that is typically held in a dark convention center. Unfortunately, they haven't had a show in the Pacific Northwest in 5 years.

Various raffle prizes were given away and a dance competition was held towards the end of the event. The dance competition was a huge success and it's definitely something we will be doing at future events.

Tailored Gang came out to the show and showed off two of their stanced cars. EverClean State and Stock Customs also brought out a few of their high quality cars. The vibe was friendly despite the different styles and types of cars.

Sinematiks produced this amazing  video which shows nearly every aspect of the event:

Special thanks to V-LEDS, Sinematiks, and NOS Energy Drink for sponsoring this event.

In all, there were 17 awards. With the exception of the Facebook People's Choice and Best Lighting, the winners of these awards were picked by everyone that entered in the show. All of the competitors chose their favorite car in each category and voted for it to win. Best Lighting was judged by the owner of V-LEDS and Facebook People's Choice was determined with a photo contest on Facebook.

The award winners were:

Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.
