StanceWars 2012 – Fitted and Stanced in the Pacific Northwest

On July 7th, 2012, StanceWars was held at Bellevue College. Last year, StanceWars was the largest fitment event in the greater Seattle area so I was certain that this year would be a huge success. Of all of the Happenstance Event Productions events I've attended so far this year, this was by far my favorite. Over 100 of the best Pacific Northwest cars were selected to be on display at the top of the parking complex.

Everything from older wagons to modern Japanese import cars were on display. Some people have said that the fitment scene is a dying art and that is only found in urban underground. Judging by the number of high quality stanced cars in attendance, I found that rumor hard to believe.

Many owners did their best to show off their style with their own unique flare and vibe. The event was organized well and it seemed like the organizers pulled out all the stops for their valued VIP ticket holders. There were also quite a few vendors at StanceWars this year including Scion and Passing Lane Performance.

If you didn't attend this year and you enjoy the stance/fitment scene then you missed out. I highly recommend that you attend StanceWars next year. Overall, it was a wonderful event which is definitely worth marking the calendar for next year. Check out StanceWars on Facebook.

Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

Stance isn’t really my personal style, but I gotta say it looks like there were some pretty clean rides with a lot of time put into them!

I was dissapointed in this event really. With all the hype it could have been soooo much more. Still good to see some cars with stance, definately something I am going for on my car.

I personally thought this event was poorly put together, not trying to bad mouth anyone. A large amount of people didn’t receive T-Shirts as promised and there were no apologies for it. I myself and everyone else payed $50 for this event. That’s a huge amount for a car show and the only reason I justified it was the fact I thought I would be getting a cool T-shirt. Very disappointed and will not be attending another stance wars event.
