Official End of Summer Car Show Event Coverage – Bellingham, WA

We couldn't have picked a better day to hold our very first import car show in Bellingham, WA. The weather was perfect and the amount of quality cars was impressive. Our goal for this show was to raise as much money as possible for the National MS Society. Our sponsors were very generous and donated merchandise to help us accomplish this goal. In total, there were 61 cars that entered the car show which nearly filled the available space at the Sehome Village Haggen. People from as far away as Vancouver, BC and Tacoma, WA came to Bellingham which meant that there were quite a few cars that many of us had never seen before. Over $1000 was raised for the National MS Society which was considered a huge success!

Participants and spectators were very generous as were the companies who helped sponsor this event.

We would like to say thank you to the following sponsors for making this car show possible:

Haggen Food and Pharmacy
NOS Energy Drink
V-LEDS
Bubba Burger
Northwest Honda
Wilson Motors
Rairdon's Hyundai of Bellingham
Gramophone Co (DJ for the show)

Judging for the show was done by each of the participants. Voting cards were provided at registration and the entire group chose the winner in each category. There was such a wide variety of cars that many had a tough time picking their favorite in the style categories.

Thank you to everyone who attended and also to the people who volunteered their time to help make this a success. I also wanted to say thank you to Bishop for taking all of these great photos.

The gallery at the bottom of this article contains photos of every car that entered the show.

Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

Jamie took the majority of the pics of cars pulling up, I just caught the last few and then got the shots inside the show =D

This show was extremely well organized. It was on time, they grouped similar cars, there were mandatory car shots on the way in, they tracked the voting for prizes – to the point that one of the organizers tracked me down and asked if I was going to hand in my voting card! My only complaint was the annoying loud music… which I realize kind of goes with the ‘scene’. Oh, and holding a car show in a parking lot is HOT, venues where you park on grass are better.

Even so, overall these guys did a fantastic show – probably the best organization I’ve seen all season.

I wish I wasn’t still on the clock when I showed up to the show and had more time to drool over the group of MKIII Supras. Great turn out though. There wasn’t a single car there that didn’t make me go back and take a quick second look at it. Two thumbs and big toes up!
