DriftCon 2021 Show Event Coverage

By June things were starting to seem as normal as they could in these times. 2021 has still been a weird year to host events with ever-changing guidelines and special hurdles at venues. Despite these challenges and rain in the weather forecast we had a full car show and a solid list of drifters signed up to have some fun at our first peak season event of the year.

The Great 75 Car Show was held alongside the track like as always. It was great to be back in our normal spot compared to the Season Opener where the StanceWars show was held in our traditional VIP lot. Having the show next to the track always makes for a better event overall and we look forward to doing the same at DriftCon Afterdark on September 11.

Some awards were determined by our traditional voting method but Best of Show, Best Import, Best Domestic, Best European, and Best Make awards were judged by our judging staff (Andrew Vun and Matt Nelson – two top tier winners of the past). We also made some tweaks to the voted awards to allow for some interesting changes in who won. See the full list of award winners and gallery below.

Thank you to everyone that attended DriftCon 2021!

Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.
