XXX Rootbeer Meet – January 28th, 2012 – Event Coverage & Photo Gallery

Winter in the Pacific Northwest typically means a major reduction in the amount of import car meets. Yesterday, XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah, WA, was overrun with import car owners itching to get out. The weather was perfect for January with the temperature remaining in the 40's. An estimated 500 cars showed up throughout the day.

The limited size of XXX Rootbeer's lot meant that people had to park in the surrounding parking lots. With the exception of the business directly behind XXX calling a tow truck, the other surrounding businesses didn't seem to mind.

Matt created ImportMeet.com in 2011 after noticing a lack of media websites dedicated exclusively to import cars. Although he's employed as an engineer and has no formal training in journalism, his skills continue to develop as the editor for the site. He enjoys writing feature car articles, technical build/project articles, and organizing events. Matt drives a 2023 Honda Civic Type R and a 1990 LS-swapped Mazda RX-7.

Yeah there was an R33 GT-R there. He and I left when the tow trucks were called. Check out Jamie Santillans album (linked above) for a few pics of the R33.

Tow truck was called? Wow, that was really weak. Really lame. Really weak. What else can I say? The surrounding business should embrace the idea, not fight it. It brings traffic to the area, and benefitted everyone. Think abt how much more gas they sold, how many more burgers they sold, free advertising, how much more sodas they sold, etc. etc. It’s called common sense, those idiots who called the tow trucks can shoved it up their asses!
