Melissa has been around cameras for most of her life. She took various photography classes in high school which is what initially got her hooked. When she moved with her daughter and Nick to Bellingham, Washington from Chandler, Arizona, she put down her camera and focused all of her energy on her family and career in banking.
In 2008, with a little point and shoot camera in hand, the love that she once had for photography returned. While taking photos of Subarus during a Cascade Loop cruise she saw an opportunity to bring photography back into her life.
In 2010, her dream of having a photography business came to life. It didn't take long to convince Nick that it was a good idea, especially with all of their friends and family asking them to take their wedding, family or car photos. Together, her and Nick make an unstoppable team. She will come up with an idea for a shoot and he will flesh out the technical details. Because of this great teamwork, Poirier Photography continues to grow each year.
