We are excited to announce that Falken Tire will be a major sponsor of the Import Meet Street Car Competition! Falken Tire will be providing one set of tires (up to 20" in diameter) to the first place winner of the competition.
We anticipate that the winner of the IMSCC will select Falken Tire’s world-renowned Azenis RT615K tire as their prize.
The AZENIS RT615K is a championship-winning street tire that is extremely popular for today’s sports cars, performance compacts and sedans. With its world-spec construction and advanced compound for street and track use, RT615K confidently maintains grip as tire temperatures increase. Through its proprietary technology, the motorsports-inspired 8/32nd tread design and solid center rib provide significant traction and sustain strong grip in both wet and dry conditions.

Every year in the northwest, a different group organizes an import meet at XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah, WA. This year we decided to give it a shot and apply everything we’ve learned at some of our smaller events to a large scale meet.

With one week to go, we have a little over 1,400 people confirmed on the Facebook event page for the XXX Rootbeer Import Meet. This is our first time organizing an event at this location and we plan on doing our best to make sure it runs smoothly. Due to the large number of cars attending, we wanted to create a VIP parking area to showcase a mix of clean import cars.
Fill out the form below to be entered into the VIP Parking Contest. All we ask is that you get permission from the photographer who took the photo (if you didn't take it yourself) and that you stay for the entire meet (11am – 2pm). All cars that will be considered for VIP parking must be an import car (produced by an Asian or European manufacturer).

We are happy to announce that we are now accepting applications to compete in the Import Meet Street Car Competition. We are searching for some of the best performing and highest quality import street cars in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, we are also looking for drivers who have experience drag racing and autocrossing their car.
Our definition of an import street car:
Import street cars are defined as cars that are produced by non-US manufacturers, are regularly driven on the street, are legally registered in the state in which the competitor resides, and covered by insurance. At minimum, all safety equipment must comply with federal and state requirements (i.e. seat belts, height from the road, lights/blinkers, etc.) and all cars must have a functioning heater.
All cars must have a factory dashboard and at least 2 front seats and door panels. Rear seats, door panels, stereo and a spare tire are not required but car show points will be deducted for cars with minimal interior and no audio system.
In May, a small panel of ImportMeet.com Founding Members will be deciding on the final group of cars to compete in the IMSCC. The competitors that our panel chooses will be notified via email. Backup cars will also be chosen if someone has to forfeit their spot in the competition.

As a car enthusiast, it’s not often that you get the opportunity to take a road trip in your modified car. It’s even less common to go on a long distance drive with a group of other car enthusiasts. This year, you have a chance to be part of the first of what could be a series of rallies across the country. The GreenLight America rally will be departing from Portland, Oregon on June 27th, 2013 and will be arriving 1500 miles away in Las Vegas, Nevada 2 days later. Even though the drive itself and the chosen route should be epic in its own right, the organizers have picked some awesome pit stops along the way to make sure the participants get an even more memorable experience.
I first heard about the GreenLight America rally on the Import Meet forums. The organizer created a post promoting it in the Pacific Northwest section. I saw the post and immediately needed to know more about the event. I got in contact with the founder of GreenLight America and was able to ask him some in-depth questions about how this ambitious event originated and his plans for the future.
